COMUNIS

In alpine areas, Municipalities are the main source of employment. Many of them, however, have problems of economic development.

To this issue is addressed comunis COMUNIS Inter-municipal cooperation for Strategic Steering of SME-oriented Location, an inter-municipal cooperation project for the strategic direction of the local development of SMEs within the Alpine Space.

The main objectives of COMUNIS (2009-2012) are the creation of innovative strategies for the development of commercial sites and the growth of inter-municipal cooperation for the creation and dissemination of integrated strategies.

  OBJECTIVES:

• The development of an integrated and cooperative development of commercial and industrial areas and the strengthening of regional cooperation to overcome the limits determined on a single municipality;
• The development of a set of guidelines for the application of this strategy;
• The creation of practical tools to assess the demand to a local and regional level and to guide commercial development with an emphasis on energy efficiency, environment, human capital and cultural resources issues.

PARTNERSHIP

The partnership project consists of a number of countries belonging to the Alpine Space, including Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, France (represented by the Chamber of Commerce of Lyon) and Italy (represented, by LAMORO and by EURAC of Bolzano as well).
