LaMoRo attended the European Project RUBIRES kick-off meeting in Tangermuende(Germany) on the 24th of february 2009

(Thomas Pusch) Tangermuende. The Regional Planning Authority Altmark invited to an international conference in the Alte Kanzlei . The European project RUBIRES was centre of it, which shall promote the exchange of experiences and cooperation on the field of renewable primary products. RUBIRES stands for Rural Biological Resources and again this term stands for a project. Through an intensive exchange of experiences and the development of a cooperative strategy an economic growth should be afford due to the use particularly of renewable primary products and the coordination of land-use. The Regional Planning Authority Altmark is Lead Partner of the project and tackles it together with partners from Germany, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy. Since the 23rd of february the kick-off meeting took place in Tangermuende, the highlight was an international conference. RUBIRES, which will run until 31st December 2011, works on problems of the field renewable primary products and their use. Stakeholders of the project are also both the District Administrator of the administrative district Stendal Jörg Hellmuth and the District Administrator of the administrative district Altmarkkreis Michael Ziche were present at the conference planning authorities, regional managements and universities. In the centre of their study stand problems of the development of value chains, material flow management and land-use management as well as pertinent further educational requirements. For this there will be an intensive exchange of ideas on conferences, workshops and project meetings. The aim is to develop new instruments and methods to establishing new technologies in energy production and to reducing CO2 emission. The three days in Tangermuende, served to coordinate the further cooperation, the project content and outputs as well as to prepare the following meetings. For this there were sessions both of the steering committee and the project work groups. The conference, at which also Mr. André Schröder, Deputy Minister of Territorial Development and Circulation of Saxony-Anhalt was present, introduced the project subject by technical presentations and presentations of the participating European regions. For the Altmark Michael Ziche spoke. Within a press conference it was pointed out that it is not only a matter of exchanging experience but also the beginning of cooperation. Within the next two years, until the end of the project there should be two exhibitions in each region. Furthermore there will be school competitions and a film about the project work in the end. The project will be funded within the programme Central Europe.
