UrbSpace Project Presentation in Alba

UrbSpace pilot project has been presented in Alba (Piedmont Region, Italy) on Friday 19th. This project is financed in the framework of the Central Europe Programme 2007-2013. The local councillor Paolo Minuto presented the pilot project that is connected to the regeneration of the Tanaro Park in the very city centre. The regeneration project is managed by LaMoRo Development Agency. The arch. Manuela Molina is in charge of the feasibility study that will be completed by the end of July 2010. Another presentation event will be organised to present results to local population. The study will be developed following the guidelines developed by project partners with the aim at providing local planners and authorities with: For politicians and local decision makers it provides a clear insight into • urban open space definitions, functions and needs and leads • ways to achieve these goals. Furthermore, it gives a • catalogue of good practice examples one might have a look at before deciding on how to deal with urban open space in his/her own city as well as • checklists for concrete steps during the planning process. For the planners, it provides a • catalogue of questions raised to improve urban open space quality from the beginning of and inside the programming process.
