Piemonte Intangible Culture at the Austrian Schinkenfest
European projects
20/07/2012
In the context of the project “Cultural Capital Counts” which is co-financed by the European Union (via the programme “Central Europe”), 9 regions from 6 European countries (Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Slovenia) have presented examples of their intangible cultural heritage at the festival “Schinkenfest” which is an outstanding example of living festive culture in the region “Steirisches Vulkanland”.
LAMORO has presented some local good practices for the valorisation of intangible cultural heritage in Piemonte:
- the book village of Frassineto Po, a unique collection of books that represent the complete literary treasure of the region
- the landscape museum of Magliano Alfieri with explanations, photos and representations of projects concerning the cultural landscape of the region “Piedmont”
- the valorisation of the literary heritage of great authors, such as Augusto Monti, and of artistic heritage - the experience in Monastero Bormida.
