The use of renewable energy represents one of the most important challenge for Europe. The project RUBIRES (Rural Biological Resources) has been established with the aim to develop and implement strategies that would bring a greater awareness of the knowledge and the use of renewable energy. To create added value through the transfer and exchange of technological and scientific know-how, to reduce emissions of CO2 are some actions in which are involved a long series of partners, including LAMORO. RUBIRES, launched in January 2009, is a project that will last three years, the end of which is foreseen in 2011.

  • Planning of tools to support sustainable growth of the rural
  • Development of added value chains at regional level
  • Development of regional projects to use renewable energies and for the production of energy and materials that increase energy efficiency

Wednesday, July 8, 2009: "Energy from vineyards"

The pilot project that will be implemented in the Lower Piedmont is aimed at building a biomass plantation. A first phase of work involves analysis of the potential of biomass in order to identify a chain of production (wood, residues from pruning of vineyards ...); once identified the area with the greatest potential for biomass, the construction of the plant will be evaluated, studying and improving the chain linked to it. For the implementation of this project, LAMORO will make use of the advice and experience of PRONATURA Piemonte and of IPLA (Institute of Forestry and Environment)
