PRESENTATION: 
75% of the population lives in urban areas of Central Europe. In this context, open spaces play a vital role and positively influence both social life and economic prosperity. The approach of URBSPACE project (November 2008, October 2011) is focused on improving the environment in urban areas of small towns and suburbs, with the construction of open spaces and community involvement in the process of restyling of the involved areas. The project was funded under the Central Europe (http://www.central2013.eu/)

OBJECTIVES:

To develop a common strategy for urban public spaces;

To produce operational tools and guidelines for sustainable design of cities;
-
To implement and evaluate the 15 projects for urban regeneration.
PARTNERSHIP:
The partnership of this project includes a wide variety of organizations from different sectors, thus ensuring a heterogeneous approach.
The thirteen project partners are local authorities, foundations, public and private research centres from eight member states (Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Czech Republic). The Italian partners are: Legambiente Lombardia, the Local Development Agency La.Mo.Ro and RISSC - Center for Research and Studies on Crime and Security.
